Leroux & Lotz

Research & Development

Driven by a spirit of innovation, we mobilize resources and our skills in order to invent and realize the solutions of tomorrow which will support you in your development. To do this, we rely on our internal resources, the collective skills of our women and our men (expertise, calculation, design, etc.). A salient example of this “spirit of innovation” is the development of our INNOV'ENERGY technology platform located on the site of our headquarters in Nantes. We have the full support from Groupe ALTAWEST to annually invest close to 4% of our turnover in our R&D programs.

2017 - Our INNOV'ENERGY technology platform - Producing 2MW

With our aspiration to always offer you or your clients high-performing systems with maximum added value for the project, Leroux & Lotz technologies relies on partnerships with its customers and research organizations to jointly develop technologies that most closely meet market expectations.
The R&D programs focus in particular on themes and techniques centred on sustainable development, such as Gasification, CO2 capture, Hydrothermal Oxidation and Bio-Methane production, which will contribute to building a world respectful to people and the environment.

We are currently involved in the following disruptive technology projects:

Synnov: waste to syngas - industrial scale demonstrator

A circulating fluid bed system in gasification mode complete with thermal cracker to generate engine ready syngas using wood waste and SRF. The facility is capable of producing 7 MWe via 5 one MWe gas engines and the balance by steam turbine generator.
45,000 tonnes of waste treated per year with an electrical efficiency> 30% for overall efficiency> 85%

Power to Gas demonstrators

  • Jupiter 1000: transformation of surplus renewable electricity via electrolysis and methanisation into synthetic CH4 for injection into the grid. LLT’s CO2 capture technology provided the necessary CO2 from an industrial waste stream for the methanisation step
  • Titan V: methanation of syngas from the gasification of waste for injection into the network.
